Rover V8 engines are available in two capacities, 3.5 litre and a more powerful 3.9 litre injection version. The 3.5 litre being available in either carburettor or fuel injection form. The features of these engines are the lightweight aluminium block and heads, the good torque characteristics and the distinctive exhaust note. |

Selection Details
On purchasing an engine check that it is complete with all ancillaries and starter motor. With injection models the engine will require the engine wiring harness, the ECU (electronic control unit) and air flow meter. |

Automatic engines are fitted with 'flexi plates' instead of a flywheel, so therefore a flywheel from a manual vehicle will be required.
The Rover P6 and MGB GT are ideal engines to source due to their higher compression, short water pump and associated pulleys, along with snug fitting exhaust manifolds.
It should be noted that this engine conversion has a dramatic increase of torque over the standard engines and therefore care should be taken with the use of the vehicle to retain the reliability of the transmission and the benefits of the conversion.
